Vertical banded gastroplasty is of two types- open Vertical banded gastroplasty and Laparoscopic Vertical banded gastroplasty. In open VBG the surgery is performed by opening the abdominal cavity by making larger incision. In laparoscopic VB G the surgery is performed by making smaller incision through which instruments are placed in the body.
