At the time of surgery port is left bank and after 3 to 4 weeks of surgery it is scheduled to fill small amount to band According to the required position of band the adjustment usually take place 6 to 8 weeks after surgery and after if required. Band is adjusted by adding or subtracting saline from port. This is usually called adjustable gastric band fill. Port is placed under the skin of abdomen. It is attached to the band balloon via tubing. Through this port saline is inserted or removed to either increase or decrease the size of band. When saline fluid is inserted to port band inflate its diameter and it more restrict the amount of food intake to pass trough to rest of the stomach but when saline it removed band decrease the size of the band which make less restriction over the intake of food.
